Hyderabad Diaries..........Glimpse into The Old City

Days at TCS ILP Hyderabad could be best described by the best weekend visits by the best "Weekend Hangouts" group. This group was dedicated only to food-experiences in the city. This post is dedicated to Divyesh, Sarvanan, Vikash and Swastik.

Char Minar

Weekends are worth "weekendful" only when we can get to know about new places to "eat". And so was the weekend dated 1st November 2014. With four co-travelers, I started off the journey by catching 116 number bus from Q City(TCS ILP Training Centre) (Nanakramguda Village,Gachibowli) to Kothi. Kothi can be described as one place full of markets in all the directions, where one can look for. However the main destination was ‘Char Minar’. So we took 75 number bus to Char Minar. We reached the place by 4 pm. One could only find tourists in the entire. The place was illuminated in Muslim community dwellings. There were shops all around with various things ranging from food to clothes. All these markets surrounded the center of attraction - “The” Char Minar. Nothing looked as beautiful and magnificent. I was as usual busy with i-Phone of Divyesh; taking selfies, group selfies and anything that looked magnificent.

Mecca Masjid

Char Minar would be undefined without the name of Mecca Masjid, where birds and humans sit in harmony. But as usual I couldn't stop myself taking pictures all around.

Pista House

The journey would have been incomplete without eating anything unique. So Hyderabadi Biryani was again on demand. This time we went off the usual choice and ordered for Prawn Biryani at the world famous Pista House. We were amazed when only 150 rupees was charged for each plate containing adequate and fresh prawns. The course ended with Black Forest chocolate pudding which was again charged for only 30 bucks. So people who like travelling and side-by-side like “controlled expenditure” travelling, please do make a visit to Pista House. After spending a quality time at Pista House, we opted to go back to Kothi.

Boys are known for sudden plans. And so we did the same. All of a sudden we planned to go to Gokul Chat, a new spot from our bucket list. So instead of catching a bus back to Q City, we stopped at Gokul Chat. The place was crowded with people to eat chats of various types and flavors. Surveillance cameras  and “ ”were put in the wake of blasts that rocked the place in “date”.

Crowd was a disappointment but  nothing could discourage from running towards the aroma of Pani puri chat, Bhel puri chat and many more. After a small 10 minutes of struggle I managed to get all the items for me and my friends. The chat session was ended with super famous (at least for me) Kulfi.
